Federal Government – Canada Greener Homes Grant

Up to 700,000 grants of up to $5,000 to help homeowners make energy efficient retrofits to their homes. EnerGuide evaluations (worth up to $600) and expert advice to homeowners so they can begin to plan their retrofits. Canada Greener Homes Grant


Alberta Government – Emissions Reduction Alberta, Commercial Solar Program

$55 million in funding for Alberta business to improve efficiency and reduce emissions – Emissions Reduction Alberta.

City of Medicine Hat - HAT Smart Solar Incentive

The City of Medicine Hat will provide $0.75/watt to a maximum of $5,000 for residents to install a solar electric PV system. Read more about the HAT Smart Program and eligibility requirements.


Town of Banff - Post-Install Solar Incentive

The Town of Banff Solar PV Incentive Program  is a post-install rebate program, with funding based on the size of solar system installed. Eligible participants install a solar PV system on their home or business, and then receive a financial rebate from the Town, based on the size of the solar system installed. The Town provides eligible participants with a rebate of $750/kilowatt (kW) of solar capacity installed, to a maximum of 7.5 kW.


Town of Canmore - Solar Incentive Program

In 2019, fifteen solar incentives of $1,000 were available to residents and businesses to help offset the cost of purchasing and installing a solar electric system in Canmore. Application for the 2021 program is now closed, but the program is expected to return in 2022.

Alberta Municipal Solar Program

The Alberta Municipal Solar Program (AMSP) provides financial incentive to Alberta Municipalities to install grid-tied solar PV system on municipal buildings and land. This program will provide a rebate of up to $0.90/watt dependant on total installed capacity up to a maximum of 25% of eligible expenses.


City of Edmonton EcoCity Grant

The City of Edmonton EcoCity Grant, in partnership with Alberta EcoTrust, provides funding  to nonprofits, community organizations, schools and charities on a case by case basis. Funding applications are due by March 31st 2018, so make sure you plan ahead!


EQUS Micro-Generator Incentive Program

The EQUS Micro-Generator Incentive Program provides its members with $0.10W of installed capacity to a maximum of $500. EQUS members can also apply for financing of $1,500 per kW installed to a maximum of $15,000.
